INHAMBANE/MOÇAMBIQUE or
THE GREAT MARABENTA SWINDLE - Jan/Feb 2011

For 6 weeks, we shot a documentary joining Roland Pickl Mudungaze and Helio D. on a musical, 2M filled journey through the region of Inhambane/Mozambique, accompanied by a whole bunch of fellow local musicians and viennese headbangers Kurtl and Bernd.

A wide range of sound and culture from Marabenta via Mamas Makarita, Curandeiros and Rock 'n Roll, Reggae and Neighbourhood Sessions to Timbila Orchestras.

The documentary will take a while to be finished but here's a video, shot and cut in Inhambane with local Reggae-veteran Joao Marrime singing about his town and what's going wrong.
